The 17th
Annual MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) Awards ceremony
will be held on Monday, April 14th, 2003 at Symphony Space in NYC,
beginning at 7:30 PM (doors open at 7:00). Here
are the results of the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE MEMBERS ONLY STRAW POLL
for the 2003 MAC AWARDS.
Please read the following paragraphs carefully!
Here are the
result of the Second CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE MAC AWARDS STRAW POLL.
I have waited until now to post the list in hopes that, while posted
before the actual MAC show at SYMPHONY SPACE tonight, most nominees
will see the report after the show. Last year I discovered that several
folks who thought they won or lost a MAC award based on this poll
went to the show with wrong expectations.
In fact, since less than 25% of the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE members
actually took part in this year's straw poll, this effort to increase
awareness of the MAC AWARDS show and MAC (Manhattan Association of
Cabarets & Clubs - http://www.macnyc.com/)
will probably be discontinued after this year. Three ballots were
discarded because they indicated preferences for nominees in only
a few categories.
I was impressed by the closeness of the final vote in many categories,
and have noted this where the vote between the top vote-getter and
the lowest was less than 5 votes out of the 80+ votes cast. There
were several actual tie votes as well. In fact, two or three additional
ballots might have changed the results in several categories.
Please remember that this poll is for entertainment purposes only,
and results may not be used in any form of advertising, promotion
or other use. The results are the property of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE
and may not be forwarded, distributed to or displayed on any other
website, message board, chat board or in print media. It is intended
for the use of readers and members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE exclusively.
It will be posted on the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE website (http://www.cabarethotlineonline.com/)
and you can refer non-members there - and in that way assist out banner
advertisers in reaching a greater audience.
Since the
CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE membership list contains many non-MAC (Manhattan
Association of Cabarets & Clubs) members, this straw poll does not
claim to be an accurate predictor of the actual 2003 MAC AWARD winners.
Nominees chosen as winners in this poll should not assume that they
are MAC Award winners or non-winners. For example, last year's straw
poll only had about a 50% correlation with the actual MAC winners.
