Achievement Awards
Each year
the cabaret community honors its own through several award processes.
The awards all mark excellence in the field of cabaret, jazz and comedy.
THE
CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE AWARD is presented to a number of individuals
and organizations who have achieved something outstanding in the year
previous the award. The awards are selfishly chosen by the editor,
publisher, writer, and only steady reader of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE,
Stu Hamstra. The opinions expressed by Mr. Hamstra are his own, but
are also the opinions of the editor and publisher of CABARET HOTLINE
ONLINE. These awards were first presented in March of 1999. They are
presented here, and only here - no party, no gala, no awards ceremony,
no ball, no reception, no press conference.

Cabaret Hotline Online CRITIC'S CHOICE AWARDS
THE BACK STAGE MAGAZINE BISTRO AWARD is presented to a number
of individuals and presentations that make a mark in the area of cabaret
in the previous year. Usually presented on the first Monday in March,
the BISTRO AWARD has one main rule - it is never given to the same
individual more than one time for the same category.The awards were
begun by the late Bob Harrington, who was the cabaret reviewer for
BACK STAGE for many years, and wrote the Bistro Bits column
in the paper. Recipients of the awards are chosen by Editor-in-Chief
Sherry Eaker and BACK STAGE cabaret critics.

THE
NEW YORK NIGHTLIFE AWARDS celebrate the best in New York's
Cabaret, Jazz, and Comedy. Recipients are chosen by New York City's
most respected critics, making it the only award of its kind that
honors the best in New York's glittering nightlife by those who are
genuinely in the know. In addition to the honorees in a wide variety
of performance categories from large and small clubs, Living Legend
Awardsare given to famous entertainers for their contributions to
the worlds of Cabaret, Jazz, and Comedy.

MAC AWARD is presented by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets
and Clubs at an annual ceremony usually held in late spring. This
award is voted on by the membership of MAC.
