Reeds is a native New Yorker and a singer/performer with a close affinity for jazz, and an uncanny ability to use his voice to reinterpret songs from other genres and make them his own: nuanced and refreshing. Growing up, J. Michael always had a passion for music, having started taking singing lessons at a very young age, though he primarily dabbled in theatre music. He began pursuing jazz after attending a Trudi Mann open mic, and his pursuit turned a corner when he began to collaborate with pianist Wells Hanley. He has released one full-length album, "8th & Mona Lisa" and is set to re-release his sophomore album, UNDER AN URBAN MOON, a collection of jazz standards as well as jazzy re-interpretations of classic folk-rock songs in late March 2010.
