LONDON: JACK JAFFE'S SINGERS' CLUB SUNDAYS IN LONDON
Open mic for singers of American Song Book/jazz, now in its 11th year takes place every Sunday night from 7:30 to 10:30 pm at THE HENRY HOLLAND (39 Duke Street, London, UK - 020 7629 4426). Backing is provided by a rota of outstanding jazz pianists, including John China, Paul Eldridge, Dave Colton (guitar), Tom Donald, Dorian Ford, Brian Miller, Hywell Thomas & Bob Stuckey. Members can sing two or more songs (depending on numbers attending). Jack Jaffe presides in a relaxed fashion and always tells the joke of the week. Jack performed for five consecutive years at the Edinburgh Festival, winning an award for his Lives, Loves & Music of Frank Sinatra & Judy Garland. He's the only Brit attending 2008's Cabaret Conference at Yale.
