CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE
#030905 - Monday, September 15, 2003
Since 1990 Your First, Best, and Only Complete Source of Cabaret News
If it's anything to do with cabaret, you'll probably read it here
first!
This is a MONDAY Issue of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE which includes cabaret
listings for around the world, and also includes information on all
the banner ads running on the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE website (http://www.cabarethotlineonline.com/)
plus shows offering discounts to members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE.
The MID-WEEK issue, usually sent on Thursdays, will concentrate more
on news, breaking stories and notes and mini-reviews of shows seen.
IS AOL DRIVING US ALL CRAZY?
I have received several comments from readers regarding the situation
with AOL where, without warning, they compact long messages and forward
them as attachments. Apparently, AOL does a lot of other things sort
of arbitrarily as well, causing many folks to change their internet
service to other providers. I have not subscribed to AOL for a 8 or
9 years or maybe more, so I have little understanding of their current
setup. All I know is that those disks I keep getting make perfect coasters
- my coffee cup actually is sitting on one right now. But, please let
me know if this or any CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE newsletter arrives as
an attachment in the future. I have checked with an AOL subscriber,
and can send you instructions on how you can open and read it.
Meantime, I have gone about shortening the newsletter as much as I can.
For example, I will continue to list all the performances/CDs etc. that
have banner ads currently running on the website (after all, these folks
account for most of the income to CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE). I will also
list all items that include an offer for discounts for CABARET HOTLINE
ONLINE members, but will not include in that sections any items that
already appear in the advertiser section.
I have also shortened the opening and closing sections, limited show
descriptions to four or five lines, and shortened the comment line I
place after a venue for which I have received no information (or venues
who have not updated their websites) to the simple phrase "No Information."

PLANNING ON RUNNING A BANNER?
BETTER PLACE YOUR ORDER TODAY!
BANNER AD spaces on the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE website selling our fast
for September & October - especially around the time of the October
Cabaret Convention here in NYC. Two of the weeks have already "sold
out" and the others have just 2 or 3 spaces left. Keep in mind, I limit
the ads to 20 banners per week, so if you plan to order a banner, reserve
your banner space as soon as possible. Banner ads are displayed at random
in two places on nearly all 2,500+ pages. This means your ad could be
seen as many as 3,000 times each day, 21,000 times each week! You can
run a banner for 2 weeks on CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE for just $80 - in
full color - with a "live link" to your website, if applicable. That's
before any member rebates or discounts. In addition, those running banners
get mentioned every week in the MONDAY issue of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE
e-mail newsletter (current circulation nearly 2,500) as long as the
banner is running.
For information on banner ads, check out the banner information page
on the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE website (http://www.cabarethotlineonline.com/BannerHere.shtml),
or simply send me a note at banners@svhamstra.com with the single word
"Banner" in the subject line and I'll send all the details.
COMING NEXT ISSUE
We will be sending out the MID-WEEK issue in a few days which will include
reports/reviews on shows seen, as well as more news items, more cabaret
listings and a rundown of new BREAKING NEWS items added to the CABARET
HOTLINE ONLINE website (http://www.cabarethotlineonline.com/)
since the last mid-week issue.
Time to send this off. I have tried to trim this issue as best I coult.
I am still not certain exactly what shows I will be seeing this week.
I am awaiting "call backs" on a few reservations I have made.
Thanks once more to all the folks who sent in their membership donations
these past weeks. We are now listing nearly 300 members, almost three-quarters
the way towards out goal of 400 members for 2003-2004. Of course it
would be great if we could reach an even higher number, but we have
many more months to go before the next membership year.
And that is just about the way it was.
