LORNA DALLAS PERFORMS IN CONCERT IN NORTH CAROLINA, DC AND NEW YORK CITY


Lorna Dallas will have a busy October, after a most successful summer in the Hamptons with shows on Coward & Porter with Steve Ross & Peter Howard, Lorna Dallas.

On October 2nd, she opens the SUMTER FINE ARTS SERIES at 7.30 pm in PATRIOT HALL (135 Haynsworth St, Sumter, SC - 803 775 5580) with her own special evening. She will be singing 24æsongs from the Great American Songbook along with the Charleston Symphony. This renowned, 49-piece orchestra will be conducted by Lorna's special guest, Don Pippin (CHORUS LINE, MAME). Lorna will raise the roof with her WEST SIDE STORY medley, a new KING AND I medley specially arranged for her and symphonic orchestra by John Dankworth and songs by Sondheim, Arlen, Berlin, Gershwin, Porter, Kern, Herman and more!

Don and Lorna will trade quips and even batons as she conducts and he sings!æThey will also be premiering a new song by Jerry Herman from his upcoming new show, MISS SPECTACULAR that evening. It is a highly anticipated concert.

Then, Lorna flies back to her home in New York to prepare a new program to celebrate the lyrics of PG Wodehouse. Wodehouse is best known for collaborating with Jerome Kern and for the original lyrics to "Bill." She will travel to Washington, DC to present this show with cabaret luminary Eric Comstock at THE SMITHSONIAN on October 20th. This program will be preceded by a special reception and evening at the British Embassy in Washington, DC.

Immediately after this show, she flies back to New York on the morning of the 21st and goes directly to the unique LUCILLE LORTEL THEATRE (121 Christopher Street, NYC) for a special presentation, WALTZ OF MY HEART, with Barrie Ingham to celebrate the music of Ivor Novello. This program is being presented by the New York Public Library and Lincoln Center as part of its UK in NY week. This show is at 4:00 pm and is open to the public, with limited seating. No reservations, so get there early!
