BARBARA FASANO MAKES ALGONQUIN OAK ROOM DEBUT


Appearing Monday, October 22nd at 9:30 pm with Rick Jensen on Piano

Singer Barbara Fasano makes her ALGONQUIN OAK ROOM (59 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-840-6800 - http://www.algonquinhotel.com/) debut in her new show, "I Wished On The Moon," Monday evening, October 22nd, at 9:30 pm. There is a $40.00 music charge and a $15.00 minimum, credit cards accepted.

Ms. Fasano's most recent credits include a MAC Award nomination, and two Back Stage Bistro Awards. She has been honored as Outstanding Vocalist, and her critically acclaimed CD, "THE GIRLS OF SUMMER," was awarded the Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding Recording. Ms. Fasano recently completed a sold out engagement of her show, "In The Still Of The Night," in August at the FireBird Cafe.

An actress and a singer, Ms. Fasano has worked all over the world, including several years in Australia where she co-produced their first music industry awards, THE ARIA'S. As a stage actress she has appeared in Commedia dell' Arte, German Expressionism, and Musical Theatre productions. She has a role in the upcoming independent film, "How To Visit New York," directed by Tony Grocki, scheduled for release in late 2001.

She began her cabaret career in Los Angeles, at The Rose Tattoo in West Hollywood and has gone on to play in clubs across the country and on tour in South America and The Caribbean. Her acting skills combined with her singing lend her songs an immediate, story telling quality. Her musical influences from jazz and folk icons have forged a cross-generation repertoire. Armed with the insightful arrangements of her musical director Rick Jensen, she is determined to expand the American Popular Songbook to include standards from Gershwin to Springsteen.

On October 27th, Ms. Fasano is appearing at Town Hall for the Mabel Mercer Foundation's Twelfth Annual Cabaret Convention.
