NAN SELLE'S "APPARITIONS" RETURNS TO DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM CABARET

Singer/actress Nan Selle is returning with her highly acclaimed show "Apparitions," on Tuesdays, July 17th, 24th & 31st at 9:15 pm at DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM (342 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/).

Apparitions can be defined as 1) A ghostly appearance of a person or thing; 2) Something making a remarkable or incongruous appearance; 3) An act of becoming visible: appearance.

Nan Selle is formerly known as Chantal Picard, and is a graduate of the Eugene O'Neill Cabaret Symposium. Speaking of her show "Apparitions," Nan says "It takes a universal musical journey of the many things that appear, reappear, haunt and taunt - hidden in the closets around our homes and in our minds; apparitions of the senses - of people, places and things - near and dear or fearful. What we were, what we wish we were, what we are, what we will be or never will be. Apparitions that we have been, that we are or will be for others."

Nan Selle's theater credits include starring opposite George C. Scott as Blanche in STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE and as Linda in DEATH OF A SALESMAN for the George C. Scott Company; and various starring roles for the San Francisco and Marin County Shakespeare Festivals. Nan's television credits include hosting her own show "Breakfast Under the Palms" in Hollywood, Florida; and as a writer for European Television Company's "California Chronicles," aired in Paris.

The love of Nan's theatrical life, however, is her work in puppetry. She performed 13 voices and characters daily with Kittinger Puppets in New Orleans, French Quarter; created ethnic puppet shows live throughout the city of San Francisco for her San Francisco Puppet Project; traveled throughout the state of Jalisco, Mexico performing under the auspices of the US State Department, ultimately creating a cottage industry producing puppets for tourists; performed in Quito, Ecuador; and worked with orphaned children in the conflict between the Tutsis and Hutus tribes in Zaire (Congo), Africa.
