The glorious songs in the
show come from all fields of music, from original Elizabethan Art
Songs to Broadway Showstoppers to Opera to Film to Television to Swing
to Rock! The show is adapted & directed by Miles Phillips, with musical
direction by Jason Wynn and choreography by Dara Seitzman.
The show had an interesting
beginning. Last year, actor/singer/director Miles Phillips was performing
his acclaimed cabaret "might as well be. . ." at JUDY'S CHELSEA in
Spring, Summer and Fall editions. New York Theatre director Tom Rowan
caught the Spring show. As a result, Rowan cast Miles as Feste in
his new production of TWELFTH NIGHT. Composer Jason Wynn, who already
owned Phillips' CD and knew his voice, wrote a half dozen glorious
new songs for Miles to sing in TWELFTH NIGHT. The show, the songs
and Phillips were all greeted with unanimous critical acclaim.
Revolving Shakespeare artistic
director Ralph Carhart caught TWELFTH NIGHT and cast Mr. Phillips
in his violent, bloody, sexy production of QUEEN MARGARET. Again,
the combination was met with raves. Carhart then approached Phillips
about directing a project for Revolving Shakespeare, and he immediately
set about creating the Shakespeare revue "Words Words Words & Music."
