TOWN HALL TAKES YOU BACK
TO THE GOLDEN AGE OF BROADWAY

The Town Hall
invites audiences of all ages to celebrate the songs of the Great
White Way with "The Broadway Musicals of 1943" and "The Broadway Musicals
of 1957". Both performances will be written, produced and hosted by
New York author/critic Scott Siegel.
"The Broadway
Musicals of 1943", on Monday, March 19, 8:00 pm, will showcase the
Broadway musicals from that year, featuring OKLAHOMA!, SOMETHING FOR
THE BOYS, ZIEGFELD FOLLIES OF 1943, A CONNECTICUT YANKEE, EARLY TO
BED, ONE TOUCH OF VENUS, CARMEN JONES and WHAT'S UP, the first musical
by Lerner & Loewe. The stage will be graced by Heather MacRae, daughter
of singer Gordon MacRae (OKLAHOMA! and CAROUSEL), Sally Mayes (PETE
īN KEELY, nominated for a TONY for SHE LOVES ME), and Jason Graae
(FOREVER PLAID).
"The Broadway
Musicals of 1957", on Monday, April 16, 8:00 pm, will also commemorate
that year's songs with highlights from WEST SIDE STORY, THE MUSIC
MAN, NEW GIRL IN TOWN, JAMAICA, COPPER & BRASS and SHINBONE ALLEY.
This show will feature Alix Korey (SUBURB, THE WILD PARTY), Adriane
Lenox (DINAH WAS, KISS ME KATE), Eric Michael Gillett (KISS ME KATE)
and other Broadway and cabaret stars.

These talented
artists are no strangers to the spotlight. Heather MacRae has starred
in HAIR and FALSETTOS, has won critical acclaim for her one-woman
show, "Songs for My Father", and was the winner of the 1999 MAC Award;
Sally Mayes has already garnered a number of prestigious nominations
and awards, including a TONY nomination for 1993's SHE LOVES ME, and
is currently starring in the Off-Broadway show, PETE īN' KEELY; Jason
Graae starred in the original L.A. cast of RAGTIME, and will fondly
be remembered as one of the original "Plaids" in "Forever Plaid;"
cabaret star and Drama Desk nominee Alix Korey, currently receiving
rave reviews in the hit SUBURB, was nominated for Featured Actress
in MTC's recent production of THE WILD PARTY; Adriane Lenox has been
seen in the Broadway sensations DINAH WAS and KISS ME KATE; finally,
Eric-Michael Gillett, who has been featured in Broadway's KISS ME
KATE and boasts a MAC Award for Best Male Vocalist, will be directing
both productions as well as starring in the "1957" show.
