SPEIDEL RETURNS TO JUDY'S CHELSEA FOR FIVE NIGHTS IN JUNE

“ Following a successful sold-out run last year, Susan Speidel returns
to JUDY'S CHELSEA (169 Eighth Avenue, NYC - 212-929-5410 - http://www.judyschelsea.com/)
with her all-new cabaret show. Recognized throughout the NY/NJ metropolitan
area as a commanding performer and crusader for the arts, Speidel
will appear on June 10th, 12th, 19th, 20th and 26th at 8:30 pm.
Ms. Speidel will perform
timeless classics from The Great American Songbook, lay down smooth
jazz standards, belt out a few rock n' roll favorites and croon some
heart-felt ballads. A versatile singer, Speidel handles the vocal
range and transition with ease. Jerome Kern's "Till the Clouds Roll
By" Rogers & Hart's "I Could Write A Book," Brian Lasser's "I Haven't
Got Time" and a medley of songs recorded by Johnny Hartman are a few
musical highlights of this new show. Rejoining Speidel will be pianist
Peter Candela, who has recently played keyboard in the orchestra for
Broadway hits such as THE LION KING and BELLS ARE RINGING.
A popular cabaret singer
in New York and Florida, Speidel performed her one-woman show, "The
Best Part of My Life" at Judy's Chelsea in 2000 in addition to bringing
"Red Hot Mama Blues" to The Duplex. As a featured soloist, Speidel
repeatedly performs with the Key West Symphonic Pops and the Key West
Theatre Festival Cabaret. She is also a regular concert performer
at the prestigious Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ.
Appearing on stages all
over NJ, Speidel is no stranger to musical theatre. Most recently
she entertained audiences in Paper Mill Playhouse's acclaimed production
of THE STUDENT PRINCE. Speidel dazzled regional theatergoers with
starring roles in GYPSY, HELLO DOLLY, and SWEENEY TODD. Other performances
include roles in DAMES AT SEA, COMPANY, NINE, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN and
MAME to name a few. Speidel has also directed and choreographed a
multitude of other productions.
