AN
EVENING WITH CAROL CHANNING AND COMPANY: A TRIBUTE TO JANET SUMNER

SHOW IS A BENEFIT FOR
THE NATIONAL ARTS CLUB OUTDOOR ART EXHIBIT SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Janet
Sumner was one of the cabaret world's best friends. On Thursday, December
13th, some of Janet's best friends from that world will join together
at JUDY'S CHELSEA (169 Eighth Avenue, NYC - 212-929-5410 - http://www.judyschelsea.com/)
in an evening of song and remembrance to celebrate her life and support
one of her favorite charities.
This special evening will
be hosted by MAC and Bistro award-winner Richard Skipper as "Carol
Channing" and will feature performances from Aaron Lee Battle, Ginny
Dustin, Diana Templeton, Judy Kreston and David Lahm, Kevin McMullen,
Tom Coviello, Arthur Kirson, Cynthia Crane and others to be announced.
Janet Sumner died in her
apartment at The National Arts Club in Gramercy Park of apparent congestive
heart failure on Tuesday night, October 30th. She was 81 years old.
In the wild days of the early 90s, Janet could be seen at just about
every cabaret event in town. It was the mark of success if Janet Sumner
came to your show!
There is a $25.00 Cover
(which will be donated to the scholarship fund) and two drink minimum.
