UPTOWN EXPRESS TO PERFORM WITH "CAROL CHANNING" AND "LIZA MINNELLI"

UPTOWN EXPRESS, the six-member pop music subgroup of the New York City Gay Men's Chorus, will perform three shows at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/) on Saturday, June 16th at 8:00 pm and Sunday, June 17th at 3:00 and 7:00 pm. Each show will feature a guest appearance by a major cabaret artist, with all proceeds going to benefit the Chorus.

MAC and Bistro Award-winner Richard Skipper brings his acclaimed impersonation of Carol Channing to the Saturday and Sunday evening shows, while Drama Desk nominee and long-time star of Forbidden Broadway Christine Pedi will perform as Liza Minnelli on Sunday afternoon.

The series, with vocal arrangements and piano accompaniment by James Followell, is titled "Heart and Music" and will include music by William Finn, Cole Porter, Peter Allen, Anne Hampton Callaway, Tom Andersen, Aerosmith, and others. In addition, the group will perform "greatest hit" numbers with Carol and Liza.

Admission is $17 (half price for MAC/O'Neill members) with a two-drink minimum (no credit cards).
