CLAUDIA
BEECHMAN IN MICHEL LEGRAND TRIBUTE AT ODETTE'S

Chanteuse
Claudia Beechman will debut her new show "The Grand Legrand" at THE
CABARET at Odette's (South River Road, New Hope, PA - 215-862-3000
- http://www.odettes.com/)
on Friday & Saturday, May 31st & June 1st. Both shows are at 8:00
pm.
Accompanying Claudia will
be Tom Baust, who arranged all the music for the show and serves as
musical director. Several songs will feature additional accompaniment
on cello by Nancy Stokking. Mr. Baust, who also sings during the show,
is a bass who sings regularly with the Opera Company of Philadelphia
and the Philly Pops with Peter Nero. Ms. Stokking is member of the
Mullica String Quartet.
The show is a tribute
to the French composer Michel Legrand, featuring songs from "The Umbrellas
of Cherbourg," "Lady Sings the Blues," "The Thomas Crown Affair,"
and a variety of other music from Legrand's prolific career. The show,
which is "mostly in English," marks a departure for Ms. Beechman,
who usually sings mostly in French.
Ms. Beechman, sister of
the late Broadway star Laurie Beechman, recorded with her sister on
Laurie's last CD, "No One Is Alone," and has released her own CD,
"Souvenirs de Paris." This is Claudia's fifth appearance at Odette's.
