Toby Blackwell Returns to The Duplex With "One Moment Please"

Toby Blackwell returns to the New York cabaret stage with his new show, "One Moment Please," at THE DUPLEX (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/) on Wednesdays, July 3rd & 10th at 7:00 pm and Thursdays, August 8th & 15th at 8:00 pm. Musical director is D. Jay Bradley and Maria Gentile is director of this evening that Mr. Blackwell describes as "the moments that define us, the moments that change us, and the moments we realize Whitney Houston is crazy." There will be a $10 music charge and a 2-drink minimum.

In his new show, Toby continues the tradition of humor he started last year with his New York cabaret debut, "Home." This show promises even more stories about his eccentric Filipino mother as well as his not-always-pleasant experiences working in Japan. The show includes more song parodies to follow up last year's "Broadway Baby," the only version of the song EVER to discuss "white crack ladies." And yes, he'll dish on Whitney.

Toby is known for his vocal renditions of a wide repertoire of pop, R&B and Broadway songs. With selections ranging from Disney to Whitney, from Broadway to country, Toby's smooth and powerful baritone voice is expected to excite audiences or bring them to tears.

Toby has performed in cabaret and theatre throughout the country, and, most recently, in Japan. His production of "Home" in Tokyo raised over $1000 to support the Twin Towers Fund.
