ANN HAMPTON CALLAWAY SERENADES NEW YORK WITH "RODGERS AND HEART"

ACCLAIMED POP & JAZZ SINGER IN NEW SHOW AT FEINSTEIN'S AT THE REGENCY

FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095 - http://www.feinsteinsattheregency.com/) will premiere a new show from acclaimed pop and jazz singer Ann Hampton Callaway entitled "Rodgers and Heart" from October 8th through 19th. "Rodgers and Heart" features an all-star jazz quintet with Ted Rosenthal on piano, Dennis Irwin on bass, Kenny Washington on drums, Andy Farber on reeds and Brian Pareschi on trumpet. The show will play the following schedule: Tuesday through Saturday at 8:30 pm with a late show on Friday and Saturday at 11:00 pm. Tuesday through Thursday 8:30 pm shows, and Friday 11:00 pm shows - $45 cover and $30 minimum; Friday 8:30 pm shows and Saturday 8:30 pm and 11:00 pm shows - $60 cover and $30 minimum. Jackets are suggested, but not required.

The show is a centennial celebration of "the most played composer in the world" and features his timeless songs of love, romance, and inspiration. Ms. Callaway will bring her soaring Iyricism and soulful Iyric reading to such standards as "It Might As Well Be Spring," "With A Song In My Heart," "You'll Never Walk Alone," "Isn't it Romantic" and "My Romance." The show's highlights include a medley of Rodgers' greatest love songs, both well loved and lesser known, and a jazz romp through two songs from Oklahoma!, "People Will Say We're In Love" and "I Cain't Say No."

Ann Hampton Callaway is one of the most widely acclaimed singer/songwriters working in pop and jazz today. She recently starred in the hit Broadway musical "Swing!," receiving a Tony Award nomination for "Best Featured Actress" and won the 2000 Theatre World Award for "Outstanding Broadway Debut." As a songwriter, she is the recipient of ASCAP's Johnny Mercer Songwriting Award. Ms. Callaway received national attention for her song "A Nanny Named Fran," which she wrote and performed for the CBS-TV hit "The Nanny." Barbra Streisand has recorded one of Ms. Callaway's songs on each of her last four albums.

Ms. Callaway recently headlined with the BBC Big Band at a special sold-out concert at the Edinburgh Jazz Festival's Jubilee celebration for the Queen. She appeared on the PBS special "Live From Lincoln Center" and also a televised concert special with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops at Symphony Hall, as well as performances at Tanglewood and Carnegie Hall. She also sang with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, and with Skitch Henderson and the New York Pops. Ms. Callaway's holiday CD, "This Christmas," will be reissued October 8th by After 9 Records/N-Coded Music.
