"Schwartz & All" Cabaret Heads East - In Australia

Leading Adelaide cabaret act, David Gauci and Matthew Carey, will return to Sydney with their new show, "Schwartz and All," at SIDE ON CAFE (83 Parramatta Road, Annandale, New South Wales, AUSTRALIA - 02-9516 3077) on Sunday February 10th at 7:00 pm.

The show is a personal retrospective of singer David Gauci's life journey to date, set to a sound track of happy, sad, spiritual, poignant and funny songs all penned by the acclaimed Broadway legend Stephen Schwartz. The evening will feature songs from shows such as GODSPELL and PIPPIN, films like POCAHONTAS and THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, and the tele-movie GEPETTO.

"While most cabaret performers cram their shows with Sondheim songs, which challenge your brain, Stephen Schwartz' songs feature powerful lyrics with strong and memorable melodies that directly engage your heart," Gauci said.

And the show has the approval of Schwartz himself. "The show is the culmination of a year long dream. Stephen has been very encouraging and is thrilled that his songs would be presented in a new and relevant context," says pianist Carey.

"His music serves as a spring board to look at situations that we've all faced, emotions we've felt and issues that affect us globally."

Recently Gauci and Carey were invited to perform at the inaugural Adelaide Cabaret Festival following the success of their show "Lies Of Handsome Men."

David Gauci's dynamic tenor voice is well known in Adelaide. He played the role of Nicely Nicely Johnson in the Adelaide Symphony's "GUYS & DOLLS' last year and pianist Matthew Carey is in high demand as accompanist and musical director to cabaret, theatre and opera performers.
