Lucille Carr-Kaffashan Returns to Don't Tell Mama and The Cabaret at Odette's

Lucille Carr-Kaffashan returns to both New York City and New Hope, Pennsylvania in April 2002 with additional performances of her popular show "On My Way To You." Along with musical director and accompanist, David Brunetti, she will appear at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/) for two performances: Sunday, April 7th at 3 pm and Saturday, April 20th at 8:30 pm. There is a $10 cover charge and a 2-drink minimum (cash only).

She and David will also appear at THE CABARET at Odette's (South River Road, New Hope, PA - 215-862-3000 - http://www.odettes.com/) on Saturday, April 27th at 8 pm and Sunday, April 28th at 7:30 am. There is a $16 cover charge and an $8 food and/or drink minimum. Dinner is available both before and after the show, and credit cards are accepted.

In "On My Way To You," Lucille uses the words and music of masters like Stephen Sondheim, Rodgers and Hart, Cole Porter, Coleman and Leigh, Michel Legrand, and Kander and Ebb to share some perspectives on the journeys of modern life. The show has been described as "a gem ... a pure delight!" by Stu Hamstra of Cabaret Hotline Online. BACK STAGE magazine reviewers Barbara & Scott Siegel wrote that Lucille is "a classically trained soprano ... who has moved comfortably into the realm of the Great American Songbook. This bright voiced singer ... with lyric interpretation that is thoughtful and intelligent ... made a strong impression in her recent show, 'On My Way To You.' We'd like to see her again!"

A native of Long Island, New York, Lucille grew up listening to the stories woven by folk music, operatic arias, and musical theater songs. Drawn to expressive voices, beautiful melodies and heartfelt lyrics, Lucille has found her artistic home on the cabaret stage.

For many years, her voice training was primarily classical, with a focus on Italian and French arias and art songs. While her cabaret work celebrates the Great American Songbook “ both classic and contemporary “ she enjoys including in each program at least one French or Italian song in order to reveal the emotional colors that can be expressed in these languages.

Lucille performed for many years in regional theater productions before developing her first cabaret act. Since 1999, she has presented three different cabaret shows at Don't Tell Mama, and in Septemberæ2001 she made her Odette's debut.
