The
Collage Museum: A Jazz Cabaret That Calls For a Cure
"The
Collage Museum," an Off-Broadway Jazz Cabaret Story featuring Jamarcus
Mosley, will be officially brought to the stage on November 6th, 7th
& 10th at THE TRIAD (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - Resv: http://Smarttix.com/
or 212-206-1515) at 7:30 pm. The show is a musical memorial to all
of those living with cancer and combines memorable songs, ageless
stories and vivid visuals. With direction by Linda Amiel Burns, "The
Collage Museum" marries jazz, blues, funk, R&B, and Top-40 to create
a tour through time and experiences. Musical arrangements are by Joel
Mofsenson and Ted Firth, with choreography by Tina Casual. There is
a $15 cover and 2-drink minimum (MAC/AEA/SAG/AFTRA & Senior Discounts
available). A considerable portion of the proceeds will go to benefit
BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS & Cancer Research.
"The Collage Museum" is
a literal and interactive adaptation of a visit to a historical yet
soulful museum. The exhibit was initially experienced by Marc, the
museum tour guide, who happens to be living with cancer. Now in retrospect
of all he has been through, Marc takes his audience on a meaningful
and educational trip through his past with cancer and its treatment.
Playwright, Jamarcus Mosley plays the lead role of his namesake, Marc.
The museum's exhibition of truth allows him to face his past head-on
through the honest reflections of his life.
"I wrote this story in
hopes of sending a message of hope, love, and peace to all of those
who may be living with this disease as I am," says Mosley. "It's not
about dying from cancer, but living with it!"
