Barbara Cook In a New Program In Brooklyn

One Night Only at Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts

Singing sensation Barbara Cook, coming off last season's triumphant, sold-out performances at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theater and this past summer's acclaimed appearance at the Sondheim Celebration at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, will perform a new program from the great American songbook as well as some highlights from her "Mostly Sondheim" acclaimed show in an unforgettable evening on Saturday, November 2nd at 8:00 pm at BROOKLYN CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS (at the Walt Whitman Theater on the campus of Brooklyn College (one block from the junction of Flatbush and Nostrand Avenues - 718-951-4500 - TicketMaster: 212-307-7171) as part of its new Con Edison Celebrities Series. Tickets are only $45.00.

Known for her silvery soprano, purity of tone and warm presence, Barbara Cook has been delighting audiences for more than 50 years. Recently inducted into the Broadway Hall of Fame, the Tony, Grammy and Drama Desk Award winner was considered "Broadway's favorite ingenue" during the heyday of the Broadway musical. In subsequent years she has launched a second career as a concert and cabaret artist. Whether in the intimate setting of New York's Cafe Carlyle or on the stages of major international venues the world over, Cook's popularity continues to thrive.

Barbara Cook's studio recordings include eight original cast recordings. Her latest release is Barbara Cook Sings "Mostly Sondheim."
