Chicago's Joan Curto Returns to New York With "Undexpressed?"

Chicago based singer and actress Joan Curto returns to New York in her critically acclaimed cabaret show "Unexpressed?" for two performances at JUDY'S CHELSEA (169 Eighth Avenue, NYC - 212-929-5410 - http://www.judyschelsea.com/) September 28th & 29th at 8:30 pm. This is a continuation of her New York debut show that premiered at Judy's in April of 2002. Ron Cohn directs the show and musical direction is by Dan Stetzel, also from Chicago. Cover charge is $15.00 with a $12.00 minimum.

Chicago audiences and critics have been unanimous in praising Joan's current show. It was named one of the top ten cabaret shows in Chicago for 2001. The show is an eclectic collection of songs featuring composers from both the American Songbook and contemporary music. Songs featured range from the 1937 song "I Double Dare You," to Amanda McBroom's touching "Putting Things Away." Other highlights include songs by Julie Gold, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Susan Werner, Carole Hall and the title song "Unexpressed" by John Bucchino.

Joan is establishing herself as a top cabaret performer in Chicago. She performs regularly at DAVENPORT'S Piano Bar & Cabaret (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830 - http://www.davenportspianobar.com/), Chicago's top cabaret room as well as venues across Chicagoland, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Palm Beach Florida. This past March Joan was invited to perform at the Mabel Mercer Foundation's first ever Chicago Cabaret Convention. Joan attended the Eugene O'Neill Cabaret Symposium in 1999. Chicago audiences have enjoyed Joan in many theater performances. She has appeared in the lead roles of "South Pacific," "They're Playing Our Song," "Baby," "Follies," "Jerry's Girls" and has been part of many benefit concerts.

Although a long time resident of Chicago, Joan was born in Philadelphia, and spent her teen years in Stamford, Connecticut. Coming to New York feels like coming home!
