
"Jamie
deRoy & friends" Presents Summer Show June 20th

Cea, Sherry Davey, Kristopher McDowell, Modern Man, and Swingirls
to Appear
Jamie
deRoy will host a special summer edition of her MAC Award-winning
variety show, Jamie deRoy & friends, at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE
BEECHMAN THEATER (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Thursday,
June 20th at 8:00 pm. Her scheduled guests include Broadway funnyman
Mario Cantone, singer/comic Kim Cea, comedian Sherry Davey, singer
Kristopher McDowell and vocal groups Modern Man and Swingirls. Barry
Kleinbort will once again direct. Jo Lynn Burks will be musical director.
There is a $15 cover charge ($10 for MAC members), and a one-drink
minimum. Call 695-6909 for reservations.
Mario Cantone is
known to audiences around the country for his outrageous comedy, for
which he has won 8 MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs)
Awards. He has also appeared on Broadway in "Love, Valour, Compassion,"
Off-Broadway in "The Crumple Zone" and in the City Center Encores!
production of "The Boys From Syracuse."
Kim Cea has appeared
in the Broadway show "Smokey Joe's Cafœ" and received an Emmy nomination
for the PBS series "The News in Revue." She is a two-time MAC nominee
for Outstanding Female Comic.
Sherry Davey was
recently named as one of New York's Top 10 Comedians by Back Stage.
Her television appearances include Comedy Central's "Premium Blend"
and Fox News' "The Full Nelson."
Kristopher McDowell
has appeared previously at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, where he offered
selections from his solo recording "Faces of Love."
Modern Man has
been hailed as one of this country's funniest vocal groups. Their
song "Jews Don't Camp" is quickly becoming a cabaret classic.
Swingirls' harmonic
take on popular standards have delighted audiences at the Algonquin,
The Plaza and the Tribeca Playhouse.
"Jamie deRoy & friends"
has been thrilling New York City audiences for the past 11 years,
and serves as the basis for Jamie's award-winning cable television
