Natalie Douglas returns to The Duplex in December

Her new show "the first time ..." plays Sundays in December and a one night only Holiday Concert with special guests plus a very special NEW YEAR'S EVE performance.

Natalie Douglas debuts her new show, "the first time ...," at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/) this December. "the first time ..." will play Sundays, December 15th, 22nd and 29th at 5:00 pm. On Monday, December 23rd at 7:00 pm, Natalie and a few of her cabaret colleagues will salute the season with a one-night only concert of holiday songs. Natalie will be accompanied by her long-time musical director, MAC Award winner Mark Hartman, and jazz great Tony LaVorgna on alto saxophone. For all four of these performances, there will be a $15 cover charge, as well as a 2-drink minimum.

THE DUPLEX will also ring in the New Year with Natalie when she presents a very special New Year's Eve performance on December 31st at 10:30 pm. For this performance only, tickets, priced at $35, will be available via SmartTix (http://www.smarttix.com/ or 212-206-1515). There is a 2-drink minimum, and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight is included.

Natalie Douglas received the 1998 and 2001 MAC Awards for Outstanding Jazz Vocalist, and has been nominated for this award for six straight years. She was honored with the 1996 MAC Hanson (Critic's) Award and has also received the Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding Female Vocalist. In addition, Natalie's critically-acclaimed debut CD, "Not That Different", was nominated for a 2000 MAC Award for Outstanding Recording.

Natalie has performed at most New York City cabarets, Town Hall, Symphony Space, Sardi's, and has headlined at the FireBird Cafe. She's sung on MSNBC's Morning Blend, Jersey's Talking, and an excerpt from her hit concert continues to air on PBS's "Cabaret Live." Natalie has been profiled in articles in Out Magazine, Canadian Magazine and Cabaret Scenes, among others. Other recent appearances include "The Broadway Musicals of 1940" at New York's Town Hall (which also spawned a CD upon which she can be heard). Her appearance in the DUPLEX'S Downtown Revivals series was an instant sell out, and she recently gave a triumphant performance in this year's Cabaret Convention, also at Town Hall.

Natalie is also a pro at bringing in a New Year. She sold out the former EIGHTY EIGHT'S repeatedly with her unique and classy New Year's Eve shows. Beginning at 10:30 pm on Tuesday, December 31st, Douglas and her musicians will welcome in the New Year with her smooth and dynamic vocal presence - surely a New Year's to remember, and the perfect way to slide into 2003.
