John
De Marco and Joe Agosta Started With A Dream

"It
Started With A Dream did just that. John De Marco and Joe Agosta began
in the music business a children, but then life's paths took them
in other directions. They will be talking and singing about it all
in their new show, "It Started With a Dream - 2 Guys, 1 Voice" at
JUDY'S CHELSEA (169 Eighth Avenue, NYC - 212-929-5410 - http://www.judyschelsea.com/)
on Wednesday, June 12th and Tuesdays, June 18th & 25th, and Monday,
June 24th at 8:30 pm. Their Musical Director, Mark York, is a composer,
Iyricist, director and assistant to Cy Coleman. The show is directed
by Lennie Watts, who is the recipient of two MAC awards and a Bistro
Award this year. There is a $15 cover, and $10 food/drink minimum.
"It Started With A Dream"
represents a joyous return to the stage by two men who reflect on
life through song with expressions of pathos, joy and tenderness.
Together their voices blend and harmonize as if they have been working
together for years. Separately, they show their individual styles
singing material from Broadway shows and standards by Maury Yeston,
Frank Wildhorn, Cy Coleman, Leslie Berceuse, Henry Mancini and others.
Joe Agosta was being groomed
to be a recording star by his father, a record producer. The music
stopped for Joe after his dad's untimely death. Joe went on to college
and earned a teaching degree. Once firmly entrenched as a teacher,
Joe wanted to sing again and began auditioning for regional theatre,
performing as Patrick in AUNTIE MAME; Billy Bigelow in CAROUSEL; Bobby
in COMPANY; El Gallo in FANTASTICKS; Perchik in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF;
Manolakas in ZORBA and others.
John De Marco appeared
as a child on "Star Time" and "The Children's Hour" for several years
with Leslie Uggams, Bobby Darren and Connie Francis. He appeared as
the lead singer in the Follies Bergere in Paris for three years, returning
to the States to work in the Las Vegas version at the Tropicana for
several more years. John stayed in Vegas headlining at the Stardust
with Lilianne Montevecchi, then travelled East appearing at the Bon
Soir, Tony Pastor's in NYC and the Americana Hotel in Miami. John
kept his musical interest alive in later years performing at the Paper
Mill Playhouse and the State Theatre of New Jersey.
