Follen Angels in Two Shows in Boston During Valentine's Day Week

The Follen Angels, Hildy Grossman, Jeanne LaForgia & Rieko Tanaka present two performances in Valentine Week of a fun-filled evening with songs made famous by the most celebrated divas of the 20th Century. "Over the Rainbow," "Falling in Love Again," and "La Vie en Rose" are only a few of the great songs you'll hear, songs of Garland, Dietrich and Piaf.

On Tuesday, February 12th, the ladies will appear at SCULLERS JAZZ CLUB (400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111 - http://www.scullersjazz.com/) at 8:00 pm with their show "Women of Heart." There is a $15 cover ($48 dinner and show, discount for seniors and BACA members).

Then on Saturday, February 16th, they will present "A Night at the Moulin Rouge," a romantic, atmospheric trip to the great Moulin Rouge of Toulouse-Lautrec's Paris at THE FRENCH LIBRARY AND CULTURAL CENTER (53 Marlborough Street, Boston, MA - 617-266-4351). The Angels will sing songs of Bruant, Brel, Piaf, Greco, Chevalier and familiar belles chansons. Tickets are $25 ($20 for Seniors, Library members and BACA members).

The Follen Angels are dynamic cabaret artists who perform music from early European cabarets, the American Musical Theater, and selections from modern composers. The "Angels" originated at the Longy School of Music (on Follen Street in Cambridge), where they studied and performed for enthusiastic audiences. Each Angel brings a unique style to the political, serious, and comical music comprising their repertoire. Together, they provide an international perspective rarely seen in this country.

The Follen Angels have delighted audiences at such venues as Club Passim, the Goethe Society, the Sundays at Seven Series at Longy, the Framingham Performance Center, the Blacksmith House, Natick Center for Arts, Le Meridien Hotel Boston, and Belmont Theater as well as at private functions and corporate events.
