For Broadway he wrote the lyrics for ST. LOUIS WOMAN and LI'L ABNER among others. In addition, he cofounded Capitol Records.

Since it's inception in 1995, The Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation has raised over one million dollars for AIDS service agencies in the Bay Area and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. 100% of proceeds from ticket sales has always gone directly to the beneficiary partners, allowing those agencies to concentrate more on delivery of direct care and less on fund raising. The beneficiaries for this year are: Center for AIDS Services, Oakland; Continuum; Project Open Hand; Tenderloin AIDS Resource Center; SHANTI.

"HELP IS ON THE WAY VIII: HOORAY for HOLLYWOOD" is produced by The Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation, founded by Barbara Richmond and Peggy Ermet in memory of their sons, John Richmond and Doug Ermet, who both lost their lives to AIDS. In 1995 The two women decided not to get mad but get even when they launched a musical AIDS benefit to honor their sons by raising funds for AIDS service organizations. The Director is David Galligan, the Musical Director is Ron Abel, Executive Producers are Joe Seiler & Ken Henderson.
