Skot Hess' New One-Man Comedy, "Talent" Extended through August 23rd

Skot Hess follows the success of his award-winning solo show, "BJ: The Trail of a Transgendered Country Singing Star" (NYC Fringe Fest 1999) with "Talent," a hysterical comedy set in a New York talent agency. Shows are 10:00 pm every Friday at THE DUPLEX (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/). There is a $10 cover + 2 drink minimum. The production is directed by Stephen Miller and Lori Sutherland.

"Talent" is the story of Ida Parker, the wacky agent who discovered BJ at a strip club in Mr. Hess' previous show, driven by the Parker family philosophy that everyone has a hidden talent whether they know it or not. In the show, Mr. Skot continues to amaze and delight audiences as he seamlessly slips in and out of the whole cast of characters and their connected lives.

In addition to literally "discovering" new stars each night in the audience, Ida Parker introduces you to her hot new client roster (most were uncovered in NYC shelters and psych wards) including: Roy, a homeless shelter slop cook who has realized his dream of being a Vegas comic/Taco cart vendor; Lady Shouldknow, a blind psych ward spiritualist who turned the voices in her head into a hit TV show; Aunt Shanitz, Ida's wild old Auntie who taught her the secret of uncovering peoples' hidden gifts; and several other unique and wonderful ex-cons and wanderers. To prepare for the roles, Hess conducted impromptu talent shows at New York City homeless shelters, psych wards and even Riker's Island (where he received several dinner date proposals).

"Talent" is the first show presented by the newly formed Nutty Cluster Co., and is co-directed by company members Stephen Miller and Lori Sutherland, who have both worked extensively as actors/producers in theatre, television and film. The show is produced by Bob Gray and Partners In Progress Inc., which produced Hess' first show to critical acclaim.
