Hodes will present her Piaf tribute "La Vie En Rose" at DANNY'S SKYLIGHT
ROOM (342 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/)
on Saturdays, November 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd - all shows at 9:30
pm. There is a $15.00 cover, $10.00 food/drink minimum.
As she polishes her new
Piaf cabaret show for Danny's, following sold-out performances last
April, Ms. Hodes, celebrating Piaf's passion and joy, probes life's
deepest moments. From "Hereuse" (Happiness) to "Mon Dieu" (My God)
to "Les Amants D'un Jour" (Lovers for a Day), to the classic "La Vie
En Rose" (which no translation quite captures), her new cabaret draws
from universal human experiences.
Since Ms. Hodes performed
her first Piaf show at the Alliance Francaise de Pittsburgh in 1991,
she has created a dozen different cabaret shows centered on the French
chanteuse with over sixty of her distinctive songs. When first she
sang at THE CABARET at Odette's (South River Road, New Hope, PA -
215-862-3000 - http://www.odettes.com/)
on Bastille Day, 1993, she received rave reviews, and Hodes has returned
to Odette's every Bastille Day since.
