THE CLUB AT SYMPHONY CENTER LAUNCHES NEW SERIES, "CABARET NIGHT IN THE CLUB" ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 13

First performance features Chicago cabaret favorite Claudia Hommel and jazz violinist Johnny Frigo

The Club at Symphony Center launches its first live entertainment series, "Cabaret Night in The Club," on Wednesday, February 13th with an intimate special event featuring Parisian chanteuse Claudia Hommel, accompanied by jazz violinist and Chicago institution Johnny Frigo. The duo, with Bob Moreen at the piano and bassist Jim Cox, will inspire guests to celebrate Valentine's Day a night early, performing music from Ms. Hommel's new CD release, "Romance Language: French songs for lovers." To set the tone for the evening, a French bistro supper prepared by The Club's Executive Chef Tuan Thai will be served at 6:30 pm. Guests will then be invited to retire to an 8:00 pm cabaret performance in The Club's 8th Floor Lounge. Tickets are priced at $65 per person, plus tax and gratuity. A limited number of tickets for the cabaret performance only are also available for $25.

Born in Paris, France, Claudia Hommel enjoys an active career as a singer and actress. Her debut album, Paris/Paree, was released in 1997. Ms. Hommel's performance at the Club marks the release of her third album, "Romance Language." This performance marks her concert debut at Symphony Center. Acclaimed jazz violinist Johnny Frigo spent more than forty years as a studio musician before emerging as a star performer in his own right. He appears regularly at the Chicago and North Sea jazz festivals.

The Club at Symphony Center is noted for unparalleled elegance and service, and is located on the top two floors of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's historic Orchestra Hall. The Club, with its breathtaking view of the city's lake front skyline, was recreated in the style of Howard Van Doren Shaw, the club's original architect and designer, when it was renovated in 1998.
