James New York Solo Cabaret Debut Extended

Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, George Gershwin, Hoagy Carmichael and more.
Robin
James, a frequent soloist with the New Amsterdam Singers over the
past 12 years, has extended her solo cabaret debut at DON'T TELL MAMA
(343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/)
for three more shows, on Saturday, June 15th at 8:00 pm and Monday
& Tuesday, July 8th & 9th at 7:00 pm. There is a $10 cover, 2-drink
minimum.
Accompanying Ms. James
is multi-MAC Award-winning musical director Dick Gallagher, frequent
accompanist of Patti LuPone and Karen Akers, among many others. The
show is directed by Helen Baldassare.
Ms. James is particularly
compelling with the French cabaret repertoire, singing songs of Edith
Piaf, Jacques Brel and other well-loved Gallic songwriters.æ Her finely-tuned
balance of songs of love, longing and levity includes selections by
George Gershwin and Hoagy Carmichael, Broadway and novelty numbers,
and some unpublished surprises.
Ms. James lives in Manhattan.
She is the mother of two teenagers, and is a Senior Account Manager
at DBM, a career management consulting firm.
