The
sultry Ute Lemper starts off the month at JOE'S PUB (425 Lafayette

with an unprecedented seven performances of her show "Blood and Feathers"
on various dates between May 2nd and May 12th. Dates and times are
May 2nd, 6th, 7th & 9th at 7:30 pm; May 12th at 7:30 pm & 9:30 pm;
May 5th at 9:30 pm. Tickets are $35.
Singing the sexy and political
repertoire she is best known for, the show is described as "A journey
through exotic cabaret, from Weill to Brel, from Piazolla to Brecht,
from Tom Waits to Ute Lemper with blood and feathers ..."
This international icon
of the stage, film, concert and symphonic arena is the recipient of
a Moliere Award for her performance as Sally Bowles in CABARET and
an Oliver Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance
of CHICAGO in London's West End. The great French choreographer Maurice
Bejart even created a ballet for her, La Mort Subite (Paris). On screen,
she glistened in "Prospero's Books" and captivated the great director
Robert Altman who cast her in his film "Pret a Porter." She has performed
in concert with the London Symphony Orchestra (Kent Nagano), the Israel
Philharmonic (Zubin Mehta) and in venues as diverse as Lincoln Center,
La Scala, the Kennedy Center and Barbican.
A chanteuses' chanteuse,
Ms. Lemper is the premier interpreter of Berlin Cabaret Songs, the
works of Kurt Weill and French chanson. She has performed her one-woman
show to international acclaim at the Queen's Theatre in London and
the historic Opera-Comique in Paris. Concurrent with her performance
month at JOE'S PUB, this chanteuse lends her passion to the canvas
and displays her skill as a painter with the U.S. debut of her paintings
at the German Consulate.
