ADVANCED CABARET WORKSHOP "SUMMER IN THE CITY"

4-day Intensive Limited to 16 Attendees - Some Events Open to the Public

Lennie Watts' on going CABLAB and Lina Koutrakos' weekly ADVANCED PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP are merging to do the first of what they hope will be an annual 4-day cabaret performance intensive. This year's Advanced Cabaret Workshop/Summer in the City will have Directors Lennie Watts and Lina Koutrakos at the helm. Workshop size is limited to 16 attendees. These performers) will be working from Thursday evening July 18th through to Sunday July 21st.

Interspersed throughout four days will be open seminars and/or shows. These will be advertised and open to the public and will feature people (both performers and the folks behind the scenes) who have gained notoriety in the various fields that will greatly benefit performers by both hearing and seeing them again or for the first time. The workshop will feature 2 musical directors and 2 guest teachers joining at scheduled times throughout the weekend.

All course work will be done in actual cabaret rooms and on the cabaret stages. This year the cabaret intensive will be housed at both JUDY'S CHELSEA (169 Eighth Avenue, NYC - 212-929-5410 - http://www.judyschelsea.com/) and DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/). The group will be ending the weekend with a cocktail party to honor the completion by the attendees.

Lennie Watts is now the newest "Board Member at Large" for the MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs - http://www.macnyc.com/), and is an award winning (both MAC & BISTRO) performer and cabaret director. Lina Koutrakos is also a renowned performer and director, and has also had the experience of teaching the last 2 years at the now defunct Eugene O'Neill Cabaret Symposium. Both Lennie and Lina have worked many years as part of the staff in the cabaret rooms of DON'T TELL MAMA and EIGHTY EIGHTS, seeing well over 1000 shows. Lina was at one time the booking manager at DON'T TELL MAMA and the assistant booking manager at EIGHTY EIGHTS.
