Michael McAssey returns to Don't Tell Mama in October where he began his cabaret career 20 years ago. 20 years ago. McAssey played in the front room piano bar at MAMA'S, along with Christopher Marlowe and Norma Curley, the night it opened; and after the cabaret opened, with Nancy LaMott and Karen Mason, McAssey was one of an elite group of performers asked to bring his show to the stage at the famous midtown club. For six years he made DON'T TELL MAMA his home before moving to EIGHTY EIGHT'S when that club opened in 1988. Michael is currently living in Aspen, CO where he is the featured performer at THE CRYSTAL PALACE and appears weekends at THE CUB ROOM at the Caribou Club.

Michael has been seen on Broadway in "Late Nite Comic;" off-Broadway in "A Hard Time To Be Single" and "In Gay Company;" and nationally in "A Chorus Line," "Godspell," "I Love My Wife "and "Billy Bishop Goes To War." Michael starred in the Chicago production of "Shear Madness." He appeared in Patti LuPone's nightclub act "The Argentina Turner Revue;" and was pianist for Donny Osmond in the Livent production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."
