MariEileen O'Brien brings her new show "Evocateur" to DANNY'S
SKYLIGHT ROOM (342 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/),
on Thursdays, September 12th,19th, 26th and October 3rd, 10th & 17th
at 7:00 pm. Musical Direction and are arrangements by Ross Patterson
and the show is directed by Erv Ralble. There will be a $15.00 music
charge and a $10.00 food/drink minimum.
MariEileen presents in
"Evocateur" a seductive elicitation, prompting, summoning, evoking
and remembering ... for sometimes we are not paying attention to where
our hearts take us.
MariEileen received a
MAC Award nomination for her show "Open The Door," and has continued
to receive critical acclaim. She is currently working on a show saluting
her Irish heritage, and another production as a tribute to Ann-Margret.
MariEileen's Off-Broadway and regional theater credits include Aldonza
in "Man of La Mancha," Lily Garland in "On the Twentieth Century,"
Eva Peron in "Evita," The Witch in "Into the Woods," Kathy Selden
in "Singin' In The Rain," and Kaye in "The Taffeffas."
She also serves as cantor
at Our Lady of Victory Church and St. Patrick's Cathedral; and upcoming
classical concerts and recitals will include the Rossini Sabat Mater
in the spring of 2003. The most memorable Mass at which she has had
the privilege to sing was The Day of Remembrance at St. Patrick's
Cathedral on Friday, September 14, 2001 following the World Trade
Center tragedy. As an active Friar, MariEileen has performed for the
Friar's Club Sunshine Committee Outreach, and serves on the Admissions
Committee. MariEileen also serves on the Theater Development and Cabaret
Committees of Actor's Equity; and was a former Board member of the
MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs).
