Cabaret Competition
Winners Announced

A full-house crowd and
a panel of expert judges chose the winners of the 2002 San Francisco
Cabaret Competition at the final face-off held on Thursday, June 27th
at JOHNNY FOLEYS IRISH HOUSE & CELLAR (243 O'Farrell Street, San Francisco,
CA - 415-954-0777). The winners, reported by host Wayne Sutton, are:
The Debut category was
won by Leanne Borghesi, Coley Grundman prevailed in
the Male category and Miss Kitty Ultra Sound captured the Female
category. The Entertainer of the year award was also won by Ms. Ultra
Sound. All three contestants received cash awards as well as the silver
microphone trophies.
Judges for the final show
were Chris Morano, Faith Winthrop, Steve Murray, Jacqui Naylor, Vincent
B. Stadlin, Joanne Corbett-Barnes, Maye Cavallaro, Opie Bellas, Ayako
Hosokawa, Pierce Carson, Trevor Logan, Sharon Clyde, Gene Price, Deanna
Gogol and Bob Johnson.
The San Francisco Cabaret
Competition began on March 28th and has continued weekly. Winners
of each category will be booked for a 20-minute spot in a special
show at JOHNNY FOLEYS IRISH HOUSE & CELLAR (243 O'Farrell Street,
San Francisco, CA - 415-954-0777). Each category winner will receive
$100 with the overall highest point winner throughout the competition
crowned as "Cabaret Entertainer of the Year," receiving $500.
