Page Sampson in "First Person Singular" at DON'T TELL MAMA

Page Sampson brings her new show "First Person Singular" to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/) on Wednesdays in May. Performances are May 1st and 8th at 7:00 pm and May 15th and 22nd at 9:00 pm. There is a $10 cover charge and a two-drink minimum.

For this show, her Don't Tell Mama solo debut, Ms. Sampson has teamed with MAC and Bistro Award-winning musical director and arranger David Maiocco. Karen Mack four-time MAC award winner for performance and songwriting, also joins the production team as director. Bill E. Nelson is featured on upright bass and acoustic guitar.

In "First Person Singular" Ms. Sampson presents a mix of standards and contemporary original works that comment on the prizes and pitfalls that can come from speaking one's mind. The evening showcases a wide array of songwriters, including Randy Newman, Johnny Burke & Jimmy Van Heusen, Dar Williams, Marcy Heisler & Zina Goldrich, Donald Fagan, Rodgers & Hammerstein, and Tim DiPasqua. Ms. Sampson will also take this opportunity to debut an original song of her own, "First Person Singular," which aptly lends its name for the title and which helped to provide the initial inspiration for the show (Iyrics by Ms. Sampson, music by Ms. Sampson & Mr. Maiocco).
