Acclaimed
celebrity impersonator Chuck Sweeney brings his fabulous take on the
late, great Miss Peggy Lee to audiences for two encore performances
Thursdays at 9:00 pm, August 22nd & 29th, at DON'T TELL MAMA (343
West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/).
There is a $10 cover, 2-drink minimum.
Mr. Sweeney will be singing
such Lee classics as "Fever," "Is That All There Is?," "He's a Tramp,
I'm a Woman" and "Manana," as well as songs the legendary Miss Lee
never sang including "Fire," "Proud Mary" and "Boogie Oogie Woogie."
Chuck Sweeney has performed
as several legendary ladies, including Judy Garland, Tina Turner and
Phyllis Diller, on stages from Miami to Provincetown. He understudied
for Tommy Femia's Judy Garland in the Off-Broadway show "I Will Come
Back!," and made a surprise appearance as Miss Lee on closing night
of that show. Since then, he's been wowing audiences with Peggy in
"The Poole Party," "Judy Garland Live," "TeddyCare," and at The 2001
BACK STAGE Bistro Awards.
Guest stars are featured
in each show. On August 22nd, Chuck's guests are MICHAEL CONLEY &
SIDNEY MYER and on August 29th, guests are NANCY WITTER & MICHAEL
CONLEY
