WITH PEGGY! Starring Chuck Sweeney
Acclaimed
celebrity impersonator Chuck Sweeney finally brings his fabulous take
on the late, great Miss Peggy Lee to audiences in "THURSDAYS WITH
PEGGY," Thursdays in June at 8:30 pm, June 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th,
at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/).
Special guest performers will be featured each week. There is a $10
cover, 2-drink minimum.
Mr. Sweeney will be singing
such Lee classics as "Fever," "Is That All There Is?," "He's a Tramp,
I'm a Woman" and "Manana," as well as songs the legendary Miss Lee
never sang including "Fire," "Proud Mary" and "Boogie Oogie Woogie."
Chuck Sweeney has performed
as several legendary ladies, including Judy Garland, Tina Turner and
Phyllis Diller, on stages from Miami to Provincetown. He understudied
for Tommy Femia's Judy Garland in the Off-Broadway show "I Will Come
Back!," and made a surprise appearance as Miss Lee on closing night
of that show. Since then, he's been wowing audiences with Peggy in
"The Poole Party," "Judy Garland Live," "TeddyCare," and at The 2001
BACK STAGE Bistro Awards.
Scheduled guests in June
include Sidney Myer & Poppi Kramer on the 6th, Michael Conley & Nancy
Witter on June 13th and Sidney Myer & Carolyn Montgomery on the 20th.
