Neighborhood Cats is a grassroots organization working to improve the quality of life for New York City's feral ("wild") cats. They advocate the only method proven to be humane and effective in controlling the growth of feral cat populations - trap/neuter/return, popularly known as TNR. Cats too wild to be placed in homes are trapped, neutered, returned to their original territory and then provided with regular food and shelter.

To advance this technique, Neighborhood Cats offers hands-on help and advice to feral cat caretakers, holds workshops on cat colony management, makes referrals for free or low-cost spaying and neutering, and provides free food for neutered colonies. Recently named the "Feral Cat Organization of 2002" by Alley Cat Allies (the leading national feral cat group), Neighborhood Cats is a nonprofit supported entirely by the kind and generous donations of those who believe in our cause.
