AIP's
THIRD ANNUAL ARTS FESTIVAL SPOTLIGHTS CABARET
ARTISTS
IN PARTNERSHIP (http://www.aip-arts.org),
a cultural arts organization in Long Beach, NY, is stepping up its
promotion and advancement of awareness of the arts on Long Island.
AIP's THIRD ANNUAL ARTS FESTIVAL will spotlight performances and professional
panels in the field of musical cabaret. The event takes place May
28th through June 1st, at the LONG BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY (111 West
Park Avenue, Long Beach, NY) The library will be transformed into
a cabaret club for the event.
The festival will explore
the genre of musical cabaret, including how to put an act together,
how to deal with the press, and will include live entertainment by
current cabaret talents. Professional panelists will include such
industry professionals as Erv Raible, Barry Kleinbort, Anita Darian
and others. Performers include Shelly Shields, Barbara Fasano, Pam
Tate and Marnie Baumer.

Why Musical Cabaret?
Opening Panel discussion
and demonstrations - Exploration of this unique genre, its relationship
with Broadway, the theatrical implications of stories sung in an intimate
setting. Bruce Bider, musician/pianist and teacher Anita Darian, singer
and coach from Broadway and the concert stage Erv Raible, Executive
Director of Cabaret & Concert Artists, 2002 MAC Award nominee for
Outstanding Director

of 10 MAC Awards; Nancy McGraw, MAC Outreach, Manhattan Association
of Cabarets and Clubs; Barbara Brussell, singer; and Tedd Firth, pianist.
