'PIANO
WHORE' ED ALSTROM HITS THE 'MAMA' CIRCUIT

2003
Back Stage Bistro Award winning singer/songwriter Ed Alstrom returns
to the New York scene with his new solo performance, "I Am The Piano
Whore." The 'Mama Tour' begins at the new MAMA ROSE'S (219 Second
Avenue, NYC - 212-533-0558 - http://www.mamaroses.net/)
on Thursday, September 18th and Friday, September 19th, both at 7:00
pm; and continues at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC -
1-212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/),
on Sunday, September 21st at 7:00 pm, and Tuesday, September 23rd
at 8:30 pm. There will be a $10.00 music charge and a 2-drink minimum
for all shows.
Alstrom stirs
an eclectic mix of the acerbic to the obscure; from Broadway, blues,
R&B, standards and classic rock to New Orleans, novelty tunes, bebop,
opera and quirky originals.
Ed Alstrom
and Acid Cabaret burst onto the scene this past year in his critically
acclaimed New York debut. After receiving the Bistro award and a MAC
Nomination for Best Male Debut, Alstrom went on to music-direct and
perform in the summertime run of "Dream A Little Dream: The Mamas
& Papas Musical" at the Village Theater. Also, he will be Musical
Director for the upcoming "Timeless DivOs" show at the York Theater
on September 14th.
Ed has recorded
extensively, and his Broadway credits include "Leader of the Pack"
and "Smokey Joe's Cafe." He has performed with Bette Midler, Chuck
Berry, Leonard Bernstein, Herbie Hancock, Zubin Mehta, Lou Rawls,
and many other notables.
