Ed Alstrom and Acid Cabaret
burst onto the scene early last year in his critically acclaimed NYC
cabaret debut. Ed presents an eclectic mix of the acerbic to the obscure;
from Broadway, blues, R&B, standards and classic rock to New Orleans,
novelty tunes, bebop, opera and quirky originals.
Last fall Ed received
critical acclaim as the musical director for Darlene Love and Freda
Payne's "Love & Payne" show at Feinstein's; and recently for Darlene
Love's Christmas Concert at the newly renovated Symphony Space. Ed
has recorded extensively, and his Broadway credits include "Leader
of the Pack" and "Smokey Joe's Cafe." He has performed with Bette
Midler, Chuck Berry, Leonard Bernstein, Herbie Hancock, Zubin Mehta,
Lou Rawls, and many others notables. Currently he serves as musical
director for the off-Broadway show "Dream A Little Dream: The Mamas
& Papas Musical", starring 'Papa Denny' Doherty, at the Village Theater
in NYC.
