"AN EVENING WITH DOUG ANDERSON" at ODETTE'S

Doug Anderson, a cabaret favorite in New York and Philadelphia, makes his first appearance at THE CABARET at Odette's (South River Road, New Hope, PA - 215-862-3000 - http://www.odettes.com/) on two Sundays, April 6th and 13th, both shows at 7:30 pm. Musical Director is Greg Wilder with Andrew Nelson on bass. "AN EVENING WITH DOUG ANDERSON" is a mix of standards from the Popular American Songbook, Broadway showstoppers, and an eclectic blend of songs by Stephen Sondheim, Noel Coward, Dave Frishberg, Judy Collins and Comden & Green.

Mr. Anderson, best known as a comic singer, constructs his cabaret performances in an interactive, semi-improvised style   wielding his special brand of dry wit with broad humor. He has appeared Off-Broadway, on HBO's Comedy Channel, in PBS's Great Performances series ("Sondheim at Carnegie Hall"), and in the Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention at Town Hall in New York City.

Doug created and performed a dozen shows in all the New York City cabarets before relocating to Philadelphia in 2000. Putting his solo club work on hold, he returned to theater in Stephen Sondheim's "Passion" at the Wilma Theatre in 2001. He also appeared in an original Broadway revue for the Walnut Street Theater, at the Act II Playhouse, at the Shubin Theater, and in "Holiday Follies at the Arden" with his creative partner Todd Waddington. Doug also teaches classes in The Art of Cabaret at the Wilma, and privately with Mr. Waddington.
