BEN BLACK SINGS A SONG BY GERSHWIN IN SEATTLE

Critically acclaimed song stylist Ben Black will sing A SONG BY GERSHWIN (And 22 others) at the CREPE DE PARIS RESTAURANT (1333 Fifth Avenue, Seattle, WA - 206-623-4111) on Friday & Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm, through October 11th. Musical direction is by John Hansen. Ticket price is $42 per person, and includes 3-course dinner and show. $15 show only seating is available. Ben performed earlier this season at the Cabaret de Paris in his successful one-man show TRY TO REMEMBER.

This evening of Cabaret includes not only a song by Gershwin ("Do It Again"), but also many other favorites like "Autumn Leaves" by Johnny Mercer, "Desperate Ones" and "Ne Me Quitte Pas" by Jacques Brel, "I Have Dreamed" by Rodgers and Hammerstein, "Over The Rainbow" by Rodgers and Hart, and "I Love Paris" by Cole Porter and many others.

Mr. Black performs an artfully eclectic collection of songs ranging from jazz classics, ballads, and show tunes to French chansons and timeless pop. His unique interpretations give new meaning and dimensions to some of the greatest songs ever written. His newest Origin Records release, REMEMBERED FACES/PRIVATE PLACES, opens a treasure chest of international wonders and surprise material, featuring songs sung in Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, and English.

Musical Director John Hansen is one of the finest and most sought after jazz pianists in the Pacific Northwest. With a natural lyricism and fluent, flexible approach, he is called on to perform and record in a variety of styles. John has worked with such artists as the Woody Hermann Orchestra, Ernestine Anderson, and the Seattle Symphony Orchestra.
