ROBERT BROWN IN CONCERT AT KING KONG ROOM

Jason
Robert Brown, the Tony Award-winning composer and lyricist for "Parade,"
performs in concert at KING KONG ROOM at the Supper Club (240 West
47th Street, NYC - 1-212-921-1904 - http://www.KingKongRoom.com/)
for two nights only, September 1st and 8th at 8:30 pm. Joining Brown
will be his trio, the Caucasian Rhythm Kings (Gary Sieger on guitar
and Randy Landau on bass), singer Lauren Kennedy, and other special
guests. There is a $25 cover and $15 food/drink minimum. Reservations
are required.
Jason has written three musicals for the New York stage:
"Songs for a New World," which has since been produced more than 200
times throughout the world; "Parade," in collaboration with Alfred
Uhry and Harold Prince, for which he won the Tony Award for Best Score;
and "The Last Five Years," winner of Drama Desk Awards for Best Music
and Best Lyrics. He recently served as Musical Director/Orchestrator/Arranger
for "Urban Cowboy" on Broadway. His songs, including the cabaret standard
"Stars and the Moon," have been performed and recorded by Audra McDonald,
Betty Buckley, Karen Akers, Renže Fleming, Jon Hendricks, and many
others.
