Lucille Carr-Kaffashan Brings "Young @ Heart" Back to Don't Tell Mama

Lucille Carr-Kaffashan was scheduled to make her JUDY'S CHELSEA debut on March 30th with her brand new cabaret show, "Young @ Heart." Following the abrupt closing of that club, she quickly re-located the first performance of the show to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/). That opening garnered rave reviews.

Along with her talented musical director and accompanist, David Brunetti, Lucille brings the show back to DON'T TELL MAMA for three more performances: Wednesday, May 14th at 6:00 pm, Saturday, May 24th at 4:30 pm and Friday, May 30th at 8:30 pm. There is a $15 music charge and a 2-drink minimum.

"Young @ Heart" contains an eclectic mix of standard and contemporary songs that reflect Lucille's musical journeys over the years. The song list includes works of celebrated songwriting teams Rodgers & Hammerstein, Maltby & Shire, Comden & Green, and Bricusse & Mancini, along with those of singer-songwriters such as Judy Collins, James Taylor, and Jacques Brel.

A native of Long Island, New York, Lucille grew up listening to the stories woven by folk music, operatic arias, and musical theater songs. Drawn to expressive voices, beautiful melodies and heartfelt lyrics, Lucille has found her artistic home on the cabaret stage.

While her voice training was primarily classical, with a focus on Italian and French arias and art songs, her cabaret work celebrates the Great American SongbookÐboth classic and contemporaryÐand she enjoys including in each program at least one French or Italian song in order to reveal the emotional colors that can be expressed in these languages.

Lucille performed for many years in regional theater productions before developing her first cabaret act. Her most recent cabaret outing, the critically acclaimed On My Way To You, had a successful run at both Don't Tell Mama in New York City and The Cabaret at Odette's in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Since 1999, she has presented four different cabaret shows in New York City and Pennsylvania, and has performed in a number of special cabaret productions including the Odette's 15th Anniversary Show and the 13th Annual TeddyCare Show.

Lucille will also bring "Young @ Heart" to THE CABARET at Odette's (South River Road, New Hope, PA - 215-862-3000 - http://www.odettes.com/), Pennsylvania on Friday and Saturday, June 6th and 7th. Both shows are at 8:00 pm, and dinner is available before or after the show. There is a $16.50 music charge, and an $8 food/drink minimum.
