Brian De Lorenzo Returns to Scullers with Mothers' Day Tribute

Award-winning cabaret artist Brian De Lorenzo returns to SCULLERS JAZZ CLUB (400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111 - http://www.scullersjazz.com/) on Tuesday, May 6th at 8:00 pm in a new cabaret show called "Mama, a Rainbow: A Celebration of Moms and Other Parents." Brian will be accompanied by Ron Roy on piano. Tickets are $16.

The show was scheduled just before Mothers' Day so all adult children are encouraged to feel guilty if they don't bring their moms to the show. Dads will want to be invited as well. In fact people of all genders, religious beliefs, and sexual orientations, whether they are children, have children, or are considering having children will want to attend.

Cabaret singer and actor Brian De Lorenzo was recently nominated for an award in the Best Cabaret, Male category by the Independent Reviewers of New England for his cabaret show "How Was I to Know: Songs of Richard Rodgers" which he performed last July at SCULLERS. De Lorenzo also recently performed at the 2nd Annual Boston Cabaret, performing songs by Johnny Mercer.

Brian's debut recording "Found Treasures" was nominated for a 2000 "Recording of the Year" Award by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC). Brian is also featured extensively on the CD, "Made in America - Vaudeville Songs 1900-1926," a tribute to the Gumm Family (Judy Garland's Family). It includes 22 favorite songs from the turn of the century through the "Roaring Twenties," and is on the Original Cast Recordings label.

Brian recently returned from Chicago where he performed for the second year in a row at the Mabel Mercer Foundation Chicago Cabaret Convention at the Park West, Chicago. In November of 2001, Brian appeared in "The Baker's Wife" with Broadway star Judy Kuhn. The production received a special award from IRNE, the Independent Reviewers of New England.
