Fasano at The Duplex in March
Award-winning
singer Barbara Fasano will return to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61
Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/),
for 2 nights only, March 4th & 11th at 7:00 pm. Ms. Fasano last appeared
at The Duplex in December with her holiday concert as part of the
club's "Downtown Revival Series" and at their New Year's Eve Gala.
Musical director is Rick Jensen. There is a $15 cover, 2-drink minimum.
Both an actress & a singer,
Ms. Fasano, a MAC Award nominee & 2-time Back Stage Bistro Award winner,
began her singing career in Los Angeles, at The Rose Tattoo in West
Hollywood. Her critically acclaimed CD, THE GIRLS OF SUMMER, co-produced
with her longtime collaborator Rick Jensen, was awarded the Back Stage
Bistro Award for Outstanding Recording & was singled out in the Village
Voice as an album "worthy of Grammy consideration." She is also a
vocalist on jazz trumpeter Rick Henly's latest Christmas Album, CHRISTMAS
PRESENT and appears on the cast album of THE BROADWAY MUSICALS OF
1964, released in February 2003.
Ms. Fasano has performed
in virtually all the cabaret rooms in New York City, packing the house
at New York's landmark Oak Room at The Algonquin Hotel with her critically
acclaimed show, I WISHED ON THE MOON. She has also performed numerous
times at Town Hall for the annual Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention,
and was featured in the Cole Porter Tribute during the Philadelphia
Cabaret Convention. Other engagements include The Cinegrill in Los
Angeles, Odette's in Pennsylvania, The Downtown Cabaret Theatre in
Rochester, The Manor in New Jersey, The Prince Music Theatre in Philadelphia,
and on the high seas through the Caribbean, South America and the
Panama Canal. Called "coolly elegant" by H. Scott Jolley of Time Out
New York, and "sexy, sultry (and) sophisticated" by David Finkle of
The Village Voice, Ms. Fasano will be accompanied by Musical Director
Rick Jensen on piano.
Ms. Fasano will also be
appearing in the world premiere of the newly revised WHAT MAKES SAMMY
RUN? a musical about Hollywood, in concert on March 26th, 27th & 28th
at 8:00 pm and March 29th at 2:00 & 8:00 pm at Hofstra University,
