Kerry Ford Returns to New York with Tributes to Berlin and Weill
On
Saturday, January 4th, Los Angeles cabaret favorite and Broadway veteran
Anne Kerry Ford brings her tribute to Irving Berlin to New York with
special guest Maude Maggart. On Sunday, January 5th, Ford presents
the songs of German composer Kurt Weill. Both shows will be at JUDY'S
CHELSEA (169 Eighth Avenue, NYC - 1-212-929-5410 - http://www.judyschelsea.com/),
with showtimes at 8:30 pm. There is a $15 cover charge and $12 minimum.
In 2000, Ms. Ford was
the vocalist with the legendary WDR Big Band in Germany (under the
direction of Roger Kellaway) for Weill's centenary , reprising that
concert in Los Angeles at The John Anson Ford Amphitheater in 2001.
In this cabaret tribute, Ford presents selections from both his German
and American song books. The musical director for both shows is John
Boswell.
Anne Kerry Ford is an
accomplished actress, having graduated from the Juilliard School when
she was only twenty years old. She went on to star on Broadway in
"Annie" and "Threepenny Opera," and appeared in the films "Lovesick"
with Dudley Moore, "Fearless," "Clean and Sober," as well as numerous
TV shows. As a singer, she has performed at The Gardenia and The Cinegrill
in LA, The Triad and Town Hall in New York, Blues Alley in Washington
DC, The Plush Room and Herbst Theatre in San Francisco, Scullers in
Boston, and many other venues all over the country. She has two solo
recordings available on the LML Music (http://www.lmlmusic.com/) label,
"In the Nest of the Moon" and "Something Wonderful."
