at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 1-212-339-4095 - http://www.feinsteinsattheregency.com/)
will premiere a new evening of comedy and song from acclaimed satirist
Stan Freberg, who will be joined by humorist and entertainer Hunter
Freberg. Their engagement runs from May 20th through 25th. The show
will play the following schedule: Tuesday through Saturday at 8:30
PM with a late show on Friday and Saturday at 11:00 PM. All shows
have a $60 cover and $30 minimum. Jackets are suggested, but not required.
Stan Freberg, considered
an icon of American comedy, is best known for the 1961 album "Stan
Freberg Presents the United States of America." He spoofed conventions
of popular culture on his acclaimed recordings and radio performances,
notably "The Stan Freberg Show" on CBS Radio.
He later became a revolutionary
force in the advertising industry, one of the first to popularize
humor in advertising. Mr. Freberg created some of the most memorable
ad campaigns in the last few decades for clients such as General Motors,
General Mills, Coca-Cola, Jeno's Pizza and Xerox. He has been awarded
over 20 Clio Awards, given for outstanding achievement in advertising.
His career started as a solo concert artist who toured with the likes
of Frank Sinatra.
Recently, Mr. Freberg
was inducted into the Chicago's Museum of Broadcasting's "Hall of
Fame" and released "Stan Freberg Presents the United States of America,
Vol. 2" on Rhino Music. He remains active amusing audiences throughout
the country through live performances and radio shows.
Hunter Freberg is a well
known humorist, entertainer, media personality and keynote speaker
known for her no-nonsense, breezy, on-target style. She had been a
correspondent on television shows and radio stations across the country,
including her role as co-host for ABC's "Talkradio." When she recently
married Mr. Freberg, audiences declared it "a comedy match made in
heaven."
